Quite Time With Old Saint Nick | Silent Santa Giving Time To Families With Special Needs

(Oxnard, Calif.) — Dec. 07, 2017 — Bright lights, seasonal show tunes and a trip to see Santa are all hallmark traditions for families celebrating the holiday season; however, for children with special needs, the experience can be overwhelming and may cause them to shy away from participating in these time-honored traditions.

Sponsored by valued community partner Dignity Health, The Collection at RiverPark will host its second annual “Silent Santa” event, welcoming children of all ages with Autism, hearing impairment, or other special needs, to experience a private visit with Santa. On Sunday Dec. 10, children and their families will be treated to a quiet and calm experience without crowds, music, jingle bells or additional stimulation. Families can be reassured as loved ones will be able to spend quality time with Santa in a safe and unique environment.

“We are overjoyed to be able to host this event once again for families of children with special needs as we’ve learned, for many, last year was the first time some had the opportunity to meet Santa,” said Stefanie Muegel, Marketing Director for The Collection. “Our hope is by offering Silent Santa for members of our community, families do not miss out on participating in an event that, in many other circumstances, otherwise may not be able to attend.”

This special event takes place Sunday, Dec. 10, by appointment only. Please call 805-988-7527 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
