UPDATED WITH PHOTOS: Rash of Vandalisms hit Ventura

Steel ball bearings have been found at some of the victim locations. Since the last press release, two more locations have been found with similar vandalism. Photos are attached to this email.

Over the past 24 hours, the Ventura Police Department has responded to eight window smash vandalisms throughout the midtown, downtown, and Ventura Avenue areas of the city. On 08/06/15 between the hours of 12:27 pm and 2:13 pm, VPD responded to two window smash vandalisms. On today’s date between the hours of 2:22 am and 7:50 am, VPD has responded to six window smash vandalisms. The particulars on the locations and times are listed below. Officers are still on scene investigating some of the vandalisms. At this time, we are unsure of how the windows are being smashed, and there is no suspect information. It does not appear that any items are being taken from the locations after the windows are smashed.

1413 hrs.- H&H Liquor 1839 E. Main

08/07/15:
0222 hrs.- Sofas Etc. 3409 Telegraph Rd
0505 hrs.- Avenue Hardware 481 N. Ventura Ave.
0531 hrs.- Caan Thrift Store 340 E. Main St.
0538 hrs.- Old Towne Jewelry & Loan 97 S. Oak St.
0628 hrs.- Carpet Galleria 2733 E. Main St.
0749 hrs.- Vacant Building 739 E. Main St.
