Recipe of the Week: Simple BBQ Baked Beans

3 slices bacon, chopped
1 tsp. bacon drippings, reserved
1/4 cup onions, chopped
1/4 cup green bell pepper, chopped
2 cans (15 ounces each) white beans, rinsed and drained
3 tbsp. chili sauce
1 cup Barbecue Sauce
Directions
Cook bacon in medium skillet until crisp; drain on paper towel and set aside.
Reserve 1 tsp. bacon drippings and discard drippings.
Saute onions and peppers in reserve drippings.
Combine all ingredients in a 1-quart casserole dish.
Bake, uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Maybe altering this recipe by excluding the bacon and including some form of ground meat might be something to consider.
