We have had a great response to this upcoming event and if you haven’t done so, please register now to attend the Agricultural Water Use Efficiency Education and Funding Event at the Courtyard Marriott on Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 7:30 to 10:30 am. Hosted by VCAILG and the Farm Bureau of Ventura County, this free event for Ventura County farmers includes breakfast and will feature presentations on irrigation and energy efficiency, water quality best management practices, and how farmers can participate in the new Agricultural Water Use Efficiency (AWUE) technical assistance and equipment rebate program.*

Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board staff will also be presenting important information about the newly-adopted Agriculture Conditional Waiver program. (By attending, VCAILG members will earn 2 hours of education credit and meet their education requirement for this year.)   

Resource conservation technologies from local agricultural and technical service providers will be on display during the event. (Vendors confirmed, to date, include Steve Villegas, Hortau, Irrometer, Soil Efficiency/Moisture, AGQ USA, Ranch Systems and XiO, Inc.)

The rebate and technical assistance program is being funded by a Proposition 84 grant from the Department of Water Resources. It is being administered by Farm Bureau and theVentura County Watershed Protection District. This event is also in partnership withVentura County Resource Conservation District and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.

*This is a cooperative program supported under the Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood Control, River and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2006, administered by the State of California, Department of Water Resources; and the Ventura County Watershed Protection District as the Grantee.
