    Narrative:

    Officers responded to 2480 Victoria Ave (Rite Aid) in reference to a robbery that occurred involving a knife. The suspect had walked into the store holding a knife, took property from the store and exited. The suspect was reported as last seen crossing Channel Islands Blvd. Officers responded quickly to the area and located the suspect at the corner of Channel Islands Blvd and Victoria Ave.  The suspect, identified as Derek Jacob Marr (34-year-old, Ventura resident) was uncooperative, aggressive and fought with the responding officers.

    Marr was eventually subdued.  Oxnard Police also responded to the scene and assisted with the arrest. No officers were injured, and no additional suspects are outstanding.

    Marr was subsequently transported to the Ventura County Main Jail and charged with 211 PC Robbery, and 69 PC Resisting and Executive Officer. His bail amount was set at $215,000. Anyone with information about this incident can contact Detective Sergeant Frank Torpey at 805-986-6619.
