Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release

On 12/22/18, at approximately 11:55 pm, two subjects armed with handguns committed a robbery of Copper Still Liquors in Newbury Park. The suspects took property from both the business and one of the employees.

Shortly after, they responded to a call of a suspicious subject loitering in the area of a local liquor store, who ran from police when they tried to contact him. This subject, Travon Jackson, was eventually located by police, hiding in the area, and identified as the robbery suspect. They located a loaded firearm and evidence of the robbery in and around both Jackson’s vehicle and where he had been seen by officers.

During a search of Jackson’s vehicle, property belonging to the employee from the Copper Still Liquors robbery was located.
