Doyle Alan Johnson (DOB 7/11/65), of Ventura, pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and admitted personally using a knife in the August 29, 2019, killing of Audrey Evans, also of Ventura.
Johnson and Ms. Evans were roommates who engaged in an argument which turned into a physical confrontation. During the confrontation, Johnson stabbed Ms. Evans multiple times, causing her death.
Johnson’s sentencing hearing will be held on March 5, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court and it is expected that she will be sentenced to 28 years in state prison. Johnson is currently being held in the Ventura County Jail without bail.
