Doyle Alan Johnson (DOB 7/11/65), of Ventura, was sentenced to 28 years in state prison for the killing of Audrey Evans, also from Ventura. On February 3, 2021, Johnson pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and admitted to personally using a knife.
On August 29, 2019, Johnson and Ms. Evans, who were roommates, engaged in an argument that turned into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, Johnson stabbed Ms. Evans multiple times with a knife. Ms. Evans was transported to Ventura County Medical Center, where she died later that day. The Ventura Police Department investigated the case.
