RUSSIA!! (Who’s Colluding With Whom?)

By Phil Erwin

You must have been living in a cave – on Mars – if you don’t know about supposed “collusion” between President Trump and that most nefarious of international foes: RUSSIA!!

We’ve had nearly a year of investigations by numerous Congressional committees, the Media, and a Special Counsel’s office populated with so many Democrat lawyers, their political contributions alone might cover another Hillary bite at the Presidential apple.

And what has all this RUSSIA!! hysteria bought us?

Absolutely nothing.

The RUSSIA!! well was so dry, even Senator Feinstein admitted on CNN it was nothing but “rumors and newspaper stories.” A nothing-burger of Guinness-Record proportions.

How did we fall into this black hole?

To quote “The Dude” in The Big Lebowski, “Hey, it’s complicated, man! There’s a lot of moving parts! A lot of ins, a lot of outs…” That’s how big, underthe-covers scandals work: Many people, each with too few parts to put them together into a coherent picture.

Here are two questions that all Americans should care about:

  1. Did the Russians interfere in our 2016 election process, as Democrats insist; and if so, how did Russia interfere?

  2. Why did the Obama administration allow Russia to gain control of 20% of America’s uranium reserves by approving the 2010 sale of mining concern Uranium One?

Democrats consider the uranium deal “old news”; but note that these two very different questions share a key point: Russia.

Here are some details regarding the uranium deal:

  • As far back as 2009, the FBI was investigating Russian nuclear officials for using bribery and kickbacks to compromise a uranium trucking company. The investigations were led by Rod Rosenstein and Andrew McCabe, reporting to Robert Mueller. Eric Holder was then Attorney General.

  • The proposed sale (to a subsidiary of Russian nuclear agency Rosatum) of Uranium One, a Canadian uranium mining concern that owned the rights to 20% of the U.S. uranium reserves, required the approval of nine U.S. agencies making up a “CFIUS” committee, including Hillary’s State Department and Holder’s Justice Department.

  • The CFIUS committee is tasked with deciding whether foreign investments represent risks to America’s national security interests. It was never notified by Holder or the FBI that Rosatom’s subsidiary was under investigation for, among other things, bribing the trucking company – facts which should have resulted in CFIUS challenging the deal.

  • While the deal was under consideration, Bill Clinton was paid $500k (at least twice Clinton’s normal fee!) for a twenty-minute speech, by a Russian investment concern promoting the Uranium One deal to investors in Moscow. Clinton sought to meet with principles of Rosatom, but instead met personally with Vladimir Putin.

  • 9 board members of Uranium One donated a total of $147 Million to the Clinton Foundation in Canada. Hillary was obligated to disclose any such monies, but she never did. (This was uncovered by Peter Schweizer when he was researching his 2015 best-selling expose, Clinton Cash.

  • CFIUS did approve the Uranium One sale, but no uranium was supposed to leave the country; yet the New York Times reported that uranium was sent to Canada without an export license. (The destination of the uranium is unknown – Iran? North Korea? Al Qaeda? Was the trucking company bribed to smuggle uranium?)

It’s obvious that somebody was determined to sell U.S. Uranium to Russia, and refused to let inconvenient details get in the way. Nearly 150 million dollars changed hands and wound up either in the Clinton Foundation accounts, or Bill’s (hence Hillary’s) private bank account. And Holder’s Justice Department, which includes the FBI, didn’t want Congress or the public to know.

But why? Why would anyone think it was OK to sell our uranium to Russia? Why boost their nuclear capabilities? We should have been working to prevent this. Why were we facilitating Russia’s nuclear efforts? Didn’t our government “professionals” even think to wonder?

Next, to the question of Russian interference in our election: Democrats have been screaming that Trump “colluded” with Russia to “steal” the election from Hillary. After almost a year of investigation by Robert Mueller’s army of lawyers and several House and Senate committees, we have precisely zero evidence of such collusion.

But here are some details that lead to a very different conclusion:

  • A lobbying firm, Fusion GPS, was employed by a Republican candidate during the 2016 Primaries to do standard opposition research focused on Trump’s business dealings. When Trump won the nomination, the Republican funding ended. But Fusion shopped the research to a D.C. legal firm. Fusion, known for digging up scandals, hired an ex-British spy named Steele to go to Russia and dig up dirt on Donald Trump. Steele had worked in Moscow; he knew Russian intelligence agents personally.

  • The DNC and Hillary’s campaign apparently paid (through an intermediary) for Steele’s “dossier,” which included unsubstantiated “information” from Russian operatives. This purchase may have violated election laws.

  • Despite being full of slanderous nonsense too outrageous for even the National Enquirer, the dossier became the basis of the Democrats’ “collusion” charges and demands for a Special Counsel to investigate Trump.

  • Trump’s son, Donald Jr., was duped into attending a meeting with a Russian lawyer, ostensibly to receive opposition research on Hillary Clinton. It was a subterfuge, but the meeting itself became another “red flag” waived by the Democrats to spur distrust of Trump and argue the need for a “Special Prosecutor” to investigate Trump’s “collusion” with Russia.

  • FBI head James Comey drafted and circulated a memo exonerating Hillary of wrongdoing in her e-mail server scandal two months before the FBI got around to interviewing her. And Loretta Lynch’s Justice Department gave Hillary’s team immunity, allowing them to attend her interview as her lawyers – both facts clearly demonstrating the “interview” of Hillary was a sham.

  • Meanwhile, AG Lynch met with Bill Clinton on the Phoenix airport tarmac – incredibly inappropriate since Hillary was under investigation (though Lynch told Comey to call it a “matter.”) The FBI told the courts there were no documents detailing the conversation, but an unrelated FOIA request turned up thirty documents that had been “overlooked.”

  • Comey publicly exonerated Clinton for her “careless” handling of government communications – his “extra-legal” way of forgiving the fact that she violated important laws repeatedly. Yet, Comey refused to acknowledge publicly that Trump was not under investigation, thus allowing Democrats to continue screaming “collusion!” and insisting Trump was under investigation (he never was, though members of his team were under some scrutiny.)

  • It was reported [I could not confirm] that Comey and Mueller met privately one day before Comey leaked a confidential Presidential conversation to the Press, a move Comey admitted was to increase pressure for a Special Counsel

  • Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein had recommended Trump fire Comey; his new boss, AG Sessions, concurred. But when Trump fired Comey and AG Sessions had recused himself from any Russian/election matters, Rosenstein was in position to appoint Mueller, a former boss of his and a long-time friend of Comey, as Special Counsel.

  • Both Rosenstein and Mueller were thoroughly familiar with the Uranium One deal. Hence, they knew of Russia’s spy activities during the Obama administration.

Put all those particulars together, and here’s how it reads: Hillary and the Democrats paid Fusion GPS to dig up dirt on Trump, and Fusion paid Steele, who went to Russia and paid Kremlin Intelligence agents for what was obviously dis-information (Lies – something they’re expert at delivering). This salacious, ridiculous fictional “dossier” wound up in the hands of Hillary and the DNC, who used it to discredit Trump, and to demand a Special Prosecutor to investigate the very fiction they had paid Russians to write. The investigation was handed to allies of Comey, whom Trump had fired. It’s costing taxpayers millions, has undermined the Trump administration, and yet has basically shown that Russia and Trump have never been colluding – something that was patently obvious from the start!

And now we’re learning that Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign chairman for mere months before being discredited for having “ties” to Russia, in fact had been working with Hillary’s campaign chairman John Podesta’s own lobbying group.

So, just who is colluding with Russia?

It should be obvious to you by now that Hillary herself had more connections to Russia than did candidate Donald Trump. And it should be equally obvious that you cannot believe anything the Democrats or the Mainstream Media say. They are professional smoke-screen artists, dedicated to telling you only the “truth” they want you to believe.

You should care about these stories; they are warning signs that we are losing control of our nation. If you’re not familiar with them, you’re watching the wrong channels; try One America or FOX. Seek out news sources that treat these stories as important, not because they are good or bad for any political party, but because they signal serious challenges to the nation’s survival as a bastion of Liberty. As Newt Gingrich, longtime political maven and professional historian, recently observed:

We’re on the edge of the greatest corruption scandal in American history… The great irony is that the one person who may be completely exonerated is Trump… The breaking point will come when Congress has the courage to demand that every donation to the Clinton Foundation be published, and we learn how tremendous the level of foreign influence buying was, and what a threat that is to American democracy. Everything the average American has believed about corruption in Washington is about to be validated. Alan Guelzo, a great historian at Gettysburg College, wrote me recently that by the time this is all out, every other Presidential scandal in American history will look trivial; that this is the most corrupt, the most unbelievably unlawful Administration in American history… I think we’re gonna look back a year or two from now, and we’re gonna be stunned at the dishonesty and the bankruptcy of the Obama Administration, with the apex [being] the Clinton team.
