On February 5, 2021, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in favor of letting indoor worship services resume at a group of suing churches, easing restrictions officials said were needed to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
Though other churches might be able to take advantage of the orders, they apply directly only to the churches that sued – South Bay United Pentecostal Church, which has a 600-seat sanctuary in Chula Vista; Harvest Rock Church, which seats 1,250 people in its Pasadena facility; and Harvest International Ministry, which says it has numerous member churches throughout the state. (NOTE: These churches observe strict protocols to keep parishioners safe.)
And, They Have The Salt & Light Council in Common
Bishop Art Hodges, who sued on behalf of South Bay United Pentecostal Church, is a member of the Board of Directors of The Salt & Light Council.
Pastor Ché Ahn, suing on behalf of Pasadena’s Harvest Rock Church and Harvest Rock Ministry in Calif., has a Salt & Light Biblical Citizenship Ministry at his church.
