Santa Barbara County Food Action Network – New Year, New Projects, New People

New Year, New Projects, New People

One could argue carrying on with the development and implementation of the Food Action Network during 2020, a year like no other, could pause. However, it was because of the massively disruptive impacts of this year and our shared experience in it that relationship and trust building was accelerated and deepened. Further, the firm foundation of partners who created the Food Action Plan and launched the Food Action Network made building resilience and collaboration in the midst of immense adversity possible.

We are grateful for the Network’s leadership and accomplishments over this trying year. We also welcome a new year, new projects, and new people – while continuing work with longtime partners. As we look ahead, a key to fulfilling the Food Action Network’s purpose of connecting, aligning, and activating food system actors – all of you – is expanding the countywide “table” and including a chair for each person to join in on this important work. We strive to reflect this in all areas of the Network, including the leadership team guiding our efforts.
