Santa Maria Man Charged in December Shooting Death

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Manuel Dominguez (DOB 02-28-99) of Santa Maria, has been charged with murder and personal use of a firearm for the shooting death of Robert Gutierrez of Oxnard.  Mr. Gutierrez was fatally shot outside a residence on Magnolia Avenue in Oxnard on December 13, 2018. After an investigation by the Oxnard Police Department, Manuel Dominguez was arrested on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. 

Dominguez was arraigned on January 4, 2019, and pled not guilty to the charges. An early disposition conference is scheduled February 4, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. and a preliminary hearing is scheduled February 6, 2019, at 8:15 a.m. at the Ventura Superior Court, County of Ventura. Dominguez is in custody at the Ventura County jail with bail set at $750,000.
