Programs include exercise, WII bowling, walking, a coffee club, a balance class and the popular monthly Senior Lunch. The center itself is booked for the rest of the year for events.

Drivers Needed for “Meals on Wheels”

Ed highlighted the ‘Meals on Wheels” program which has grown from 21 to 37 meals per day five days a week. This schedule requires two routes. They are short drivers and are asking for volunteers. The number to call is 805-933-4226 extension 356 which will bring you to Liz Castaneda the Senior Coordinator. Drivers needed for Wednesdays and Fridays.

Council Member Hernandez said he drove a route for six months and it was rewarding. Ed Mount mentioned that the socialization aspect of the meal delivery is as important as the delicious meal.

Free Movie in the Park

Friday, August 25th will be a showing of “The Secret Life of Pets” outside in Veterans Park. The park will open at 7:30 pm and the movie will start at 8:30pm. What a terrific family event to celebrate summer’s end.

The rest of the meeting will be covered in a subsequent article. Watch the video here.
