Santa Paula Police Department – Incident Press Release
On Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at approximately 10:25 PM, Santa Paula Police officers responded to the 200 block of N. 6th Street regarding a shots-fired incident. Upon arrival, officers established a crime scene and located three caliber shell casings on the corner of 6th and Santa Barbara Streets.
A witness had reported that the possible suspect vehicle was a white Cadillac. Within minutes of this report, officers spotted a vehicle matching the description in the 200 block of W. Harvard Blvd and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver was identified as Liliana Gonzalez (21) of Santa Paula. The two passengers inside the vehicle were identified as Erik Gonzalez (23) and Jonathan Perez (18), both of Santa Paula and currently on active Ventura County Probation with search terms.
Additionally, Perez is a documented gang member in the city of Santa Paula. Officers located a loaded .45 caliber pistol under the front passenger seat. All three were taken into custody. Through the investigation, officers were able to link the shots-fired incident to the vehicle, occupants along with the evidence obtained. The Santa Paula Police Department is investigating whether this case is related to other shooting incidents that occurred earlier this month in the City.
