Santa Paula documented gang member arrested after seeking medical aid for gunshot wound in Santa Clarita

On Monday  November 3rd-2014 the Santa Paula Police Department received a call from the Los Angeles County Sheiff’s Department reporting that Frank Anaya, a 20 year old from  Santa Paula, had arrived at the emergency room of Henry Mayo Hospital in the City of Santa Clarita.  Anaya had a gunshot wound to his right hand. At the time he checked in, Anaya provided the hospital staff with a false ID. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was called to investigate the shooting.

Anaya alleged the shooting occurred somewhere in the vicinity of the 5 Freeway near the City of Santa Clarita. Upon completion of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s investigation, no evidence of a shooting was found to have occurred where Anaya alleged it happened. Once he was cleared by medical staff, Anaya was detained by Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputies. The Santa Paula Police Department Gang Detectives then responded to Henry Mayo Hospital and took custody of Anaya who is currently on Ventura County Probation for various violations.  He is a documented gang member from Santa Paula. Anaya was arrested for impersonating another person and violating the terms and conditions of his probation.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing by Santa Paula Police Gang Unit Detectives. It is believed the shooting may have occurred in the City of Santa Paula. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact the Santa Paula Police Departments Gang Unit.
