Santa Paula Fire Department decontaminating equipment from Mission Incident

Engine 82 is currently being decontaminated by Patriot Environmental Services as part of the cleanup efforts on Mission Rock Road. The decontamination efforts are supervised by multiple hazmat specialists and fire apparatus mechanics. Every effort is being made to insure the engine is properly decontaminated before it is returned to service. All of the porous surfaces like seats, seatbelts, headliner and insulation are being removed from the engine to be replace with new product. Every nook and cranny is being cleaned and decontaminated. This process has been going on for the past few days and is expected to continue till the engine is completely decontaminated.
