Notice of Preparation Announced (NOP)

According to an announcement cited below from the Planning Department, the NOP is available now:
The City has embarked upon a General Plan Update, with a progress report to be presented at the February 6th City Council meeting. One of the requirements is to conduct an environmental analysis per the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and solicit input from the community, stakeholders, etc. The consultants retained to assist with the General Plan update are preparing the required CEQA analysis. The attached document discusses the upcoming steps and timeframe to solicit public input.
During the Notice of Preparation (NOP) timeline, a public workshop/scoping meeting will be held to provide the public and interested parties an opportunity to provide comments and input on the contents of the Draft EIR (DEIR). The scoping meeting will be March 2, 2017 from 5:30-7:30 pm in the City Council Chambers.
The only documents open for review and comment at this point are the Project Description and Initial Study attached to the NOP. Generally speaking, this round solicits agency-level feedback, but the public can comment if so desired.
