Santa Paula man found guilty of attempted murder
On September 23re, 2015, the attempted murder trial of suspect of 33 year old Santa Paula, Jesus Arroyo-Vidal, concluded. Arroyo-Vidal was found guilty of attempted murder with enhancements for causing great bodily injury, use of a deadly weapon, and premeditation. At this time the victim is still recovering from his injuries. Arroyo-Vidal’s sentencing has been scheduled for October 22nd and can be sentenced up to life in prison with the eligibility of parole after 7 years.
On Saturday April 11, 2015 at approximately 11:22pm, Santa Paula Police officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Acacia Rd regarding a victim of a stabbing at that location. When officers arrived the victim was found with a large laceration to the neck. The victim was immediately transported by ambulance to the Venutra County Medial Center where he was listed in critical condition. Through the investigation, the suspect who was still on scene, was identified by witnesses who were present when the incident occurred. The suspect, Jesus Arroyo-Vidal, was transported to the Ventura County Jail where he was booked on the charges 664/187 PC, attempted murder.
