Santa Paula PD arrest 3 juveniles for battery
Early Sunday morning, August 23, 2015 at approximately 12:42am, Santa Paula received a report of “Shots Fired” in the Taco Bell parking lot, 535 W. Harvard Blvd. As
Officers responded to the area, Dispatch received updated information from the victim, that he was following the suspect vehicle eastbound on Harvard Blvd. from the location. Dispatch remained on the phone with the victim who directed officers to the suspect vehicle. The vehicle was located in the 400 blk. of E. Harvard Blvd. SPPD Officer’s conducted a “High Risk” stop on the vehicle, a white Chevrolet Tahoe.
Four occupants were detained without incident. One of the occupants, an adult female, was determined not to be involved in the incident. Three juvenile males were positively identified by the victim as the suspects. Through further investigation, officers learned that the three juvenile males were walking in the area of Taco Bell and confronted the adult male victim for unknown reasons. The juveniles began assaulting the victim who eventually retreated to his vehicle. Once in the vehicle, one of the juveniles produced a handgun and began hitting the victim’s vehicle with the butt of the handgun. As the victim drove away, the juvenile with the handgun began firing at the victim’s vehicle, striking it two times.
Officers recovered a black BB Gun type pistol that resembled a Colt 1911 Semi-Automatic pistol from the suspect vehicle.
All three juveniles, ages 14, 15, and 16, were arrested and charged with 242 PC; Battery, 594 PC; Vandalism, and 182(a)(1) PC; Conspiracy to Commit a Crime. The 15 year old suspect was also charged with 417.4 PC; Brandishing an Imitation Firearm. All three were booked at SPPD and later transported to Juvenile Hall.
