    Santa Paula PD recovers stolen Lexus – Suspect gets away

    On 09/19/2020 at approximately 10:58 pm hours Officers of the Santa Paula Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit initiated a traffic stop of a gray Lexus in the 500 block of W. Santa Barbara Street. The Lexus was a reported stolen vehicle out of the city of Thousand Oaks.

    The vehicle failed to yield and began to accelerate at a high rate of speed. Multiple Santa Paula Officers initiated a pursuit of the vehicle through the streets of Santa Paula. The vehicle pursuit ended in the area of Say and Ojai Road, where the vehicle was located unoccupied. A perimeter was established and with the assistance of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit and Air Support unit the area was canvassed however the suspect was not located.

    The Santa Paula Police Department would like to thank the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance.
