Santa Storm
A surprise visit from Santa and his elves, swarming the council chambers with elfin merriment, wished good tidings and alerted the citizens of three upcoming Santa tours throughout town.
Santa Paula Chamber Awards
CEO Marquez reviewed the successful 2019 Chamber events: June Street Festival and Christmas Parade, first time at night. Both brought out crowds of people enjoying the event, he said. He said that the Santa Paula Explorers were right there volunteering to help with duties such as posting the trash/recycle bins. During a busy holiday season, volunteers are hard to find, so this help was especially helpful. For this effort, the Chamber awarded the Santa Paula Explorers a check for $500.
CEO Marquez then explained the fundraiser which was planned as a joint effort with the Fillmore and Western Railway, the Polar Express Fundraiser. From this successful event, the Chamber raised $1500 for the Santa Paula Fire Memorial. On hand to accept the donation was former firefighter Vern Alstot who with Council Member Juarez are members of this board.
