Deputies with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office contacted Jorge Garcia from Santa Paula and arrested him for possession for sales of heroin and methamphetamine.
On February 21, 2021, deputies assigned to the Pre-Trial Detention Facility and Sheriff’s Gang Unit were conducting proactive directed enforcement using funds from a Department of Homeland Security Operation Stonegarden grant. The directed enforcement focuses on proactive narcotics enforcement throughout Ventura County.
At approximately 12:20 AM, deputies contacted Garcia in the parking lot of the location. Garcia fled from deputies, but was apprehended a short distance away. Garcia was arrested for being in possession of drug paraphernalia. During the ensuing investigation, deputies searched Garcia’s vehicle which was located nearby. During the search, deputies located about 9 ounces of methamphetamine, 3 ounces of heroin and evidence indicative of narcotics sales.
Based on the investigation, Garcia was arrested for narcotics sales charges and booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility. Garcia has prior narcotics sales arrests and his bail was set at $125,000.
