Santa Paula Police Department – Incident Press Release
On Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at approximately 2:20 am, officers responded to the 200 block of March Street for a report of a carjacking that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim. The victim stated she was sitting in her car when she was confronted by two male Hispanic subjects. One of the male subjects brandished a gun and told her to get out of the vehicle. When the victim exited the vehicle, one suspect entered the driver’s seat while another sat in the right front passenger seat.
The suspect then fled the scene with the vehicle last seen southbound on Dean Drive. Surrounding law enforcement agencies were notified and shortly thereafter, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department located the vehicle in the City of Fillmore. A positive identification was made on the two subjects and they were taken into custody without incident. The subjects were transported to Santa Paula Police Department. Both subjects were charged with carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing. They were later transported to Ventura County Main Jail for booking. A search of vehicle revealed a pellet gun.
The victim was not injured as a result of the carjacking.
