Santa Paula: Suspects arrested in Christmas Eve Burglary

On 12-24-2015 at approximately 1:15pm officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Dartmouth Road for a report of a subject running from a residence carrying a television. Upon arrival of officers and an initial investigation, it was determined the residence had been burglarized. It was found that the suspects had made entry into the residence and proceeded to ransack and take the Christmas presents that were under the Christmas tree. Other electronic property was also taken from the home included; 4 televisions, a computer, an iPad and personal items of jewelry.

During the course of the investigation, Germain Ramos age 24, of Santa Paula, was identified as one of the primary suspects involved in the residential burglary. Ramos is known and has a criminal record and currently on probation on a theft conviction. A probation search of Ramos living quarters within the residence was conducted the same day and during the probation search, Officers located and recovered most of the stolen property. At that time Ramos was not home however a probable cause to arrest for burglary was issued.

On 12/29/15 at approximately 7:20am officers located Ramos near his residence and was taken into custody for residential burglary and later booked at Ventura County Jail.

Additional investigation, the identity of the second suspect involved was learned. He was identified as Alejandro Castro 31, of Santa Paula. On 12/30/15 at approximately 3:01pm, Officers observed Castro driving in the area of the 200 block of E. Harvard Blvd, where a traffic stop was conducted. Castro was taken into custody for burglary without incident. A search of his vehicle revealed additional stolen property taken from the victim’s home, the property was recovered.

Castro was also transported to Ventura County Jail for burglary and conspiracy, both suspects bail is set at $50,000.
