    Santa Paula | Traffic Stop leads to arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales

    On Monday, September 14, 2020 at approximately 2:05pm officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 100 block of E. Ventura Street. The driver, later identified as Michael Esparza age 33 of Santa Paula, exited the vehicle and was acting suspicious.

    Due to Esparza acting suspicious a pat down for weapons was conducted. During the pat down, a large plastic bag containing a black tar like substance suddenly fell out of the bottom of Esparza’s pant leg. Upon closer inspection of the substance it was found to be tar heroin. Esparza was taken into custody without incident.

    The tar heroin was found to weigh 129.6 grams. Esparza was arrested for 11351 HS – Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales and later transported to Ventura County Main Jail.
