Santa Paula transient caught selling stolen DJ equipment
illness arial, stuff sans-serif;”>On August 28, viagra 2015 at 7:30am the Santa Paula Police Department received information that a subject was attempting to sell DJ equipment to the rear of a nightclub located in the 1400 block of E. Harvard Blvd. As dispatch was receiving the information, an officer on patrol was flagged down and made aware of the subject attempting to sell DJ equipment to the rear of the business by the trash bins. Officers responded and observed the suspect, Richard Porras, 51 years, a transient in the City of Santa Paula, standing next to a large amount of DJ and music equipment. The subject was contacted and detained once officers discovered the rear door to the business was open. The business was checked and no other subjects were found inside the business or surrounding area.
Several large speakers, misc. DJ equipment and musical equipment was found placed into a separate enclosed trash can area which officers believed was used to hide the equipment so it could not be as easily noticed. Additionally, the video surveillance cameras had been removed from the building. The owner of the business was contacted and all belongings were confirmed to have been inside the business when the owner left the prior night. The equipment was returned to the owner.
Porras was placed under arrest for 459 PC, Burglary and booked at the Santa Paula City Jail. He was later transported to the Ventura County Main Jail for lodging.
