Santa Paula: Two Oxnard gang members Oxnard arrested after firing shots on July 4th
click arial, nurse sans-serif;”> On July 4th, erectile Saturday night at approximately 11:50pm, Officers were dispatched the area of Palm Ave and Harvard Blvd reference two subjects walking north on Palm Ave. One of them was carrying a shotgun. It was also reported that the subject with the firearm had fired shots into the air. Upon checking the area and speaking with witnesses, Officers located two subjects matching the description in front of a gas station in the area. One of the subjects, later identified as Aflonzo Islas, was found to be in possession of a concealed loaded shotgun. The second subject, identified as Jose Viveros was found to be in possession of evidence connecting him to the shots fired incident. Both subjects are gang members from the city of Oxnard. The pair was taken into custody without incident.
Islas was charged with several weapons related charges including 186.22(a) PC, participate in criminal street gang, 246.3(a) PC, willful negligent discharge of a firearm, 25400(a)(2) PC, concealed weapon, 25850(a) PC, Carry a loaded firearm in public and 29815(a) PC, Person on probation in possession of firearm.
Viveros was charged with several charges including 186.22(a) PC, participate in criminal street gang, 246.3(a) PC, willful negligent discharge of a firearm and 182(a)(1) PC, Conspiracy to commit a crime.
Both subjects were transported to the Ventura County Jail for the above indicated charges.
