Voluntary Salary Givebacks
As described in a previous article, the FY 20-21 was challenging and required extensive negotiations with the labor unions. Read about that budget here.
The cumulative effect of the staff reductions was 2.6%. In solidarity with this, the City Manager voluntarily reduced his salary by 2.6%. According to the City Manager, the Executive Management team who was not covered by the labor negotiations, agreed similarly to a 2.6% reduction.
Council Member Crosswhite noted that council also accepted a 2.6% reduction. Council members are budgeted at $3600 per person annually.
