Saticoy teen arrested for possession of firearm/Selling Xanax

Oxnard Police Department – Incident Press Release

During the month of April, 2021, the Oxnard Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), began an investigation into Jose Posadas regarding the sales of Xanax in the City of Oxnard. Additionally, Posadas was on active felony probation for Auto Theft. DEU Detectives developed enough evidence to obtain a search warrant for narcotics sales.

On May 4th, 2021, with the assistance of SEU Officers and Oxnard K9 Leo, Jose Posadas was located in Saticoy. SEU Officers contacted Posadas in an attempt to detain him and serve the search warrant. Posadas immediately fled on foot. While running from SEU Officers, Posadas lost his balance and fell into a parked car. As Posadas was falling, a loaded P80 semi-automatic firearm fell from his waistband and slid across the pavement. Posadas immediately surrendered and was taken into custody. SEU Officers recovered the firearm and found that the firearm was loaded with a high capacity magazine.

After Posada was taken into custody, SEU Officers, DEU Detectives, and K9 Leo served a search warrant at his residence. During the service of the search warrant, officers located an additional loaded magazine, Xanax, Mushrooms, Marijuana, and further evidence of narcotics sales. Posada was charged with several felony firearm violations, including being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm.
