Because of the continued risk to public health posed by the coronavirus, all school districts in Ventura County have extended their closures at least through Friday, May 1, 2020. The new target date to reopen is Monday, May 4, but that will depend on the circumstances at the time. Yesterday, California Governor Gavin Newsom advised parents to prepare for the possibility that schools may be closed through the summer break. While that could happen, we remain hopeful that conditions will improve enough to allow schools to reopen before the end of the school year. The latest updates on school closures are available at www.vcoe.org/coronavirus.

Just curious….what are the teachers and support personnel doing without children in school? Are they all on furlough collecting unemployment?
Just another sap on the local, state and federal economy; in other words….every tax payer into the future will be paying for this extravagant waste of money, that is if the nation doesn’t go bankrupt like Greece.
Don’t believe that these “children,” left to their own devices, are not meeting in large enough groups to create more transfer of COVID-19 to those most concerned with the virus. I see large groups of “children” at Rancho Sierra Vista to suggest that that isn’t the only place where these harbingers of infection are congregating.
If this is really a “misdemeanor” to be out in the public, then the police can start arresting these “children” at Rancho Sierra Vista in Newbury Park. In the meantime, I’ve seenState Park Rangers ignoring that these students are breaking State Law.
