Pedro Gutierrez Guzman (DOB 7/13/83), of Oxnard, was charged with the murder of Ricardo Rojas, also of Oxnard. The complaint alleges that Guzman used his car as a deadly weapon.
On May 11, 2019, at approximately 11:50 a.m., Oxnard Police officers responded to a call on Bluebell Street where a male was seen face down in the road. The victim, Mr. Rojas, was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries. Oxnard police investigated and arrested Guzman for intentionally striking and killing Mr. Rojas with his vehicle.
Guzman appeared in court on June 7, 2019. His arraignment was continued to July 9, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Guzman is currently in custody with bail set at $1 million.
