Attorney Linda Groberg has been recognized by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and the Office of Victim and Survivor Rights and Services (OVSRS) for the exemplary work she has done assisting crime victims while attending parole hearings on behalf of the District Attorney. Ms. Groberg was chosen to be honored by the CDCR for “going above and beyond” to embody this year’s theme of Surviving Victims, Building Trust, and Restoring Hope. Today at the OVSRS’s Annual National Crime Victim’s Rights Week Moment of Silence Ceremony in Sacramento, Ms. Groberg was acknowledged for her steadfast efforts in assisting victims of violent crime.
The District Attorney will present the certificate from the CDCR to Ms. Groberg during this office’s National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Commemorative Ceremony Thursday, April 14, 2016. Ms. Groberg has been a prosecutor for over 30 years. Since 2014, Ms. Groberg has assumed the responsibility of traveling throughout the state to attend parole hearings that are conducted at the inmate’s prison. Ms. Groberg advocates to keep inmates in custody when they pose an unreasonable risk to the public if released from prison. During this process, she supports and assists victims of violent crimes and family members of murdered victims.
