Sign up by June 3rd “Grant Writing Fundamentals” workshop June 8th for Cultural Funding Program application by June 23rd

viagra arial, check sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;”>Artists and arts non-profits are invited to sign up by Friday, June 3, for “Grant Writing Fundamentals with Corbett Barklie” to be held Wednesday, June 8 , 5:30 to 8:30 pm, at Ventura City Hall, 501 Poli Street, in the second floor Santa Cruz Conference Room.

Workshop coordinator Corbett Barklie will review the components of grant proposal applications including budgets, work samples, project narratives and best practices in presenting yourself or your arts organization. She will then provide advice on your grant proposals that are near completion, using the City of Ventura Cultural Funding Program applications (due June 23) as “real world” examples. However, you may have her review ANY arts grant draft that you plan to submit soon. You will leave the workshop with a better understanding of the overall grant process and feel empowered to begin applying.

The workshop is presented by the City of Ventura Office of Cultural Affairs, the Center for Cultural Innovation and Ventura County Arts Council. Corbett Barklie was the founding director of Loretta Theatre, the executive director of ARTS Inc., and an NEA assessor and consultant in the Challenge & Advancement Program. Corbett is an adjunct professor at the USC School of Dramatic Arts. She is a cultural journalist for KCET’s Artbound, where she writes a bi-weekly column, Arts Shrink. Apply by Thursday, June 23, for City of Ventura 2016-2017 Cultural Funding Program grants. Applications are available at www.cityofventura.net/cfp. The program is open to any Ventura-based arts non-profit. All organizations will be required to provide proof of their 501(c)3 status or that of their Ventura County based fiscal agent’s. $90,000 will be awarded on a competitive basis to non-profit arts organizations, with grants ranging in size from $1,000 to $20,000.
