Signups for YMCA After School Childcare Programs Underway For 2021-22 School Year

Westlake Village, Calif.—YMCA branches serving the Conejo Valley/Las Virgenes, Simi Valley and Moorpark areas are registering students in TK through fifth grade for after school childcare programs for the coming 2021-22 school year.

Childcare is available on school days, pupil-free days and minimum days. Camp programs are held during Thanksgiving, winter and spring breaks and any school furlough days. Each program provides a structured environment that includes homework time, arts and crafts, sports and science. All childcare staff are state licensed and CPR and first aid certified.

Yarrow Family YMCA provides childcare in the Las Virgenes School District at Sumac/Mariposa, Willow and Yerba Buena elementary schools in Agoura Hills and White Oak Elementary in Westlake Village.

Simi Valley Family YMCA offers childcare at Arroyo, Atherwood, Big Springs, Hollow Hills, Katherine, Sycamore and White Oak elementary schools.

Conejo Valley YMCA is providing childcare at Peach Hill Academy and Mountain Meadows elementary schools in Moorpark and M.A.T.E.S. Charter School in Thousand Oaks.

Parents can register their children by going to www.sevymca.org. Children can attend full time or part time with flexible time slots available. Daycare dismissal is at 6:00 p.m. Before-school childcare availability will depend on the level of interest.

“Since the pandemic began, the YMCA has been following state and local safety guidelines at all our camps and onsite learning programs with great success,” says Jaime Gonzalez, YMCA senior childcare program director. “We’re ready to start the new school year in a safe, fun and positive environment.”

Attendance is limited. For more information, contact Gonzalez at [email protected], 805-583-5338, ext. 4012.
