Earlier this year, Thomas Platts (26 yrs) befriended a female juvenile through a mutual acquaintance. The relationship became sexual in nature. On 11/16/16, SVPD received information from an anonymous source about the relationship and what was going on between the two. SVPD immediately began an investigation which led to the arrest of Platts the same day. The arrest took place near his residence in the 1600 block of Jefferson Way, Simi Valley. He was charged with 288.5 (a) PC-Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, a felony.
Platts is a security guard at the East Valley Courthouse. Due to the nature of his job and his extensive access to the public, SVPD is asking for the public’s assistance with any information which might lead to the discovery of any other inappropriate relationships or conduct by Platts.
