Branden Lackie (DOB 11/31/91), of Simi Valley, has been charged with arson and the murder of David Crammond, also of Simi Valley.
On June 7, 2021, Lackie set fire to a couch at his rental property on Talbert Avenue in Simi Valley. As a result of the fire, resident David Crammond died of smoke inhalation.
Lackie appeared in court on June 10, 2021, for arraignment, and his case was continued to July 7, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 13 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Lackie is currently in custody with bail set at $510,000.
