Simi Resident Arrested For Defrauding the Elderly Including His Own Grandmother

On 6/26/19, the Simi Valley Police Departments Property Crimes Unit concluded an investigation into a reported Identity Theft. During this investigation, 21-year-old Kobe Abbott was identified as the suspect. 

Over the past several months, Abbott had illegally obtained the personal information of his elderly grandmother who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and an additional Simi Valley resident and utilized this information to alter and forge several checks which he cashed for personal gain. Suspect Abbott was able to defraud the victims of over one thousand dollars during his criminal activities. Abbott was subsequently arrested during the execution of a search warrant in the 1400 block of Roan St. Abbott was booked at the Ventura County Main Jail on multiple charges of 530.5PC- Identity Theft, 459PC – Burglary, and 496PC- possession of stolen property.
