    Simi Valley | 14 Year Injured – Hit by Vehicle at Stearns St./Cochran St.

    On May 28th, 2019 at approximately 7:45 AM, a 9th grade male Simi Valley High School student (14 YOA) was struck by a vehicle while riding his skateboard. The student was riding southbound on Stearns St., crossing Cochran St., when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Cochran St. The male student suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. 

    The driver of the involved vehicle is a 33 year old female from Simi Valley. The driver and the two juvenile passengers were not injured. Based on the preliminary investigation it does not appear the driver was at fault. 

    Many Simi Valley High School students witnessed this accident on their way to school. Simi Valley High School has notified the School District’s Crisis Team and is providing counseling services and student support.
