Simi Valley | Attempted Burglary Suspect Arrested

Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release

    Matthew Rey Scot

Simi Valley Police Officers responded to the 1600 block of Hi Drive, after a resident saw a man trying to enter a window of his home. He made the observation via a security camera. Officers arrived on-scene and found that the man was gone; however, he left clothing behind.

During an area search, the man was found hiding in the neighborhood, wearing only underwear. He ran and after a short foot pursuit was apprehended and identified as 35-year-old Simi Valley resident Matthew Rey Scott. Scott, who has a history of this type of dangerous behavior, was once again arrested.

This time for attempted burglary, evading and a Community Release violation. He was booked into the Ventura County Jail.
