Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release

SVPD Officers conducted a traffic stop for a Vehicle Code Violation. The driver, Wanda Perez (21 yrs) immediately jumped out of the vehicle with her hands in her pockets and refused to comply with officers. Officers were able to temporarily calm her down but she continued to scream at the officers. Perez was driving on a suspended license but refused to sign the ticket and told the officers they were not going to tow her car. Perez then attempted to walk away from the officers back toward her car. Officers attempted to handcuff her and a struggle ensued. Perez struck one of the officers in the face with her elbow and the other officer received minor scratches on his arm.

Perez was booked in Ventura Main Jail for Battery on a Police Officer.
