Simi Valley | Domestic Violence Suspect Arrested after Perimeter Search

On December 13, 2018 at about 08:12 am, Simi Valley Officers responded to a radio call of a domestic dispute in progress in the area of Tapo Canyon and Cochran St. The altercation was reported to be occurring in moving vehicle. A detective working in the area conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in question at the intersection of Tapo Canyon and Cochran. The Simi Valley Detective contacted one of the subjects later identified as Jason Gonzales (48 year-old Simi Valley resident). Within moments after the stop, Gonzales ran from the detective into a nearby residential neighborhood. 

Responding Officers quickly established a perimeter and conducted a search for Gonzales. After searching multiple residential yards, he was ultimately discovered inside an attached garage, in the 4000 block of Carlotta, hiding under a vehicle. Gonzales was then taken into custody. It was later determined that in an effort to evade police, Gonzales located the unlocked side garage door which allowed him to enter and hide underneath the vehicle. There were no residents home at the time Gonzales was inside the garage. 

Jason Gonzales was ultimately booked at the Ventura County Main Jail with the following charges:
