Simi Valley: Driver Arrested in Stolen Vehicle

At about 4:11 p.m., Officers located a unoccupied stolen vehicle parked in the area of Ashland Avenue at Third Street. A surveillance was established on the vehicle and at about 5:46 p.m. a male later identified as Samuel Mejia, 44 years of Simi Valley, was observed driving the vehicle away with a female passenger.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, which yielded at El Monte Drive and Royal Avenue, where Mejia was taken into custody without incident. The vehicle was determined to have been reported stolen out of Madera, California.
Mejia was booked at the East Valley Sheriff’s Station for 10851 V.C., Auto Theft, a felony.
