Simi Valley: Gang Members Arrested in Possession of Firearms

Two gang members were arrested after Simi Valley Police officers conduct a parole search of their residence and locate several firearms. 

On January 31, 2018, at approximately 4:40 pm, the Special Investigations Detail of the Simi Valley Police Department were in the area of the 1500 block of Patricia Ave. when they observed two known gang members walking in the neighborhood. 

The officers contacted the suspects, later identified Chris Alcaraz, 22 years old from Simi Valley and Ryan Lopez, 27 years old from Simi Valley. During their investigation the officers detained the suspects and responded to their residence and conducted a search, per Lopez’s parole terms. 

The officers located several firearms and ammunition in the residence. The officers discovered that one of the firearms was stolen from Los Angeles and another firearm had its serial number removed. 

The suspects were arrested and booked into The Ventura County Main Jail for the following charges: Felon in possession of firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of firearm with obliterated serial number, trespassing, parole violation, and a gang enhancement.
