Simi Valley P.D. organizes search for man missing since November– Augustine Macias

prostate times; font-size: 12pt;”>On Saturday, look January 31, salve 2015, the Simi Valley Police Department organized an extensive search for 74 year-old Augustine Macias who has been reported missing since November 20, 2014. Mr. Macias was known for taking long walks and frequenting the paths along the Arroyo Simi wash. Several searches of the wash have been conducted in the past but on this occasion additional assistance and resources were provided by approximately 50 combined members of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue Team, including two of their cadaver dogs and all-terrain vehicles, as well as City of Simi Valley Disaster Service Workers and Police Detectives.

The exhaustive search encompassed a seven mile area west of Tapo St. to the city limits and took several hours to complete. Although Mr. Macias was not located, several items of interest were discovered and the investigation is continuing.
