Simi Valley Police Detectives make Extortion arrest

On July 26, 2017, Simi Valley Police Detectives served a search warrant at the residence of Alex Scott Roberts (21 yrs) in the City of Simi Valley. This was in connection with an investigation related to extorting numerous victims for nude photographs. This was accomplished by making threats to post nude photos he allegedly possessed of the victims to their social media accounts if they did not send more nude photographs of themselves in return.
Roberts was arrested on six counts of Extortion, two counts of Child Annoyance, one count of Attempt to Possess Child Pornography, one count of Sexual Battery, and for violating his probation. Roberts is currently on felony probation for Attempted Extortion and was released from Ventura County Jail in January of 2017.
