Simi Valley Police Investigate Shooting
On Thursday, June 4, 2015, at approximately 5pm, SVPD Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call of a possible shooting in the 1500 block of Alva Circle. When officers arrived, they contacted a male subject in his late 30’s who had received a non life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The victim provided officers with a description of the suspect. A Los Angeles Police Department Air Unit was requested to assist in the search. Once on scene, the LAPD Airship located a subject matching the description of the shooter in a backyard on Alva Circle. SVPD Officers took the suspect into custody without incident. There are no outstanding suspects.
The SVPD Detective Unit and Crime Scene Investigators have taken over the investigation. The names of all the involved parties are being withheld at the time of this release.
The area remains an active crime scene and we are asking people to avoid Morley Street, between Sycamore Drive and Bridget Avenue.
