Simi Valley Police search for five gang members in Sunday’s attack on man near Erringer and Heywood
On Monday, September 21, 2014, at approx. 9:00 p.m., a Simi Valley man was attacked by five suspected gang members in the arroyo near the intersection of Erringer Rd. and Heywood St. This was not a random gang related attack and the victim was known to his assailants. The suspects chased the victim through the arroyo and struck him with a golf club causing a severe laceration to one of his arms. He was able to escape by running away and avoided further injuries. Responding Officers attempted to locate the suspects, but they fled the area prior to the call for service. The suspects were described as five male Hispanics all ranging from eighteen to twenty years of age. One was wearing glasses and a tan colored hat, another wore glasses and a blue and black hat. The victim was treated for his laceration at the hospital and released. Because this was a gang related assault, the victim’s name is being withheld for his protection.
