    Simi Valley | Road Rage Results in Misdemeanor Hate Crime Arrest

    In the afternoon of October 9, Simi Valley Police Department Officers were called to the area of Tapo Canyon Rd and Becky Street for a report of an assault and battery. Through the investigation Officers determined that a road rage incident resulted in an altercation between the suspect and victim. It was alleged that the suspect (identified as 58 year old Simi Valley resident Robert Snook) exited his vehicle and approached the victim with what appeared to be a stick, which the victim felt she was going to be hit with. During the altercation Snook called the victim a racial slur and spit in her face.

    Snook was arrested for the misdemeanor crimes of brandishing a weapon, battery, and committing a hate crime. Pursuant to California Penal Code, which dictates the handling of misdemeanor crimes, Snook was arrested and released with a notice to appear for a later court date.
