Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On 8/29/19 at approximately 3:42 PM two officers of the Simi Valley Police Department were traveling e/b on Royal Ave. on their way to the Ventura Co Jail to book an arrestee. As they were approaching Erringer Rd. they heard a motorcyclist rev its engine and pull away from them at a high rate of speed. When the motorcyclist got to a curve in the roadway, east of Erringer Rd., he lost control and crashed. Further investigation revealed that the motorcycle was stolen.
Apparently, the motorcyclist assumed the officers where there to apprehend him. The driver was arrested and transported to a local hospital to care for his injuries. He was identified as Joseph Rowlands, (3/1/90).
