Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On 12/23/19 at about 10:30 in the morning, Simi Valley Police Officers responded to a call of a theft in progress at Target, 51 Tierra Rejada. Target loss prevention officers notified SVPD that two suspects from a recent theft at the Moorpark Target store were now in the Simi Valley store preparing to steal items. Simi Valley Police Officers detained the suspects after they exited the business.
While the officers were investigating the theft from Target, Simi Valley Costco Loss Prevention officers reported they just had two suspects, who matched the description of the Target theft suspects, flee after abandoning stolen property from their business after being confronted by Loss Prevention Officers.
During a search of the suspect vehicle, Officers discovered stolen property from the Moorpark and Simi Valley Target thefts. A Costco Loss Prevention officer positively identified the pair as the suspects from the theft at their business.
The suspects were identified as Randy Cervantez, 29 and Yvette Romeron, 37, both Oxnard residents. Cervantez and Romero were booked into Ventura County Main Jail for Organized Retail Theft and Commercial Shoplifting.
